Western Star 5700XE

Western Star's aerodynamic experiment.

Unveiled on September 11, 2014, the 5700XE was Western Star's aerodynamic on-highway tractor whose 'XE' stood for 'extreme efficiency,' with its swept bodywork and fairings tuned in Daimler Trucks North America's Portland wind tunnel to cut drag by as much as 6 percent. Daimler discontinued it at the end of 2021, replacing it with the more efficient 57X.
