Western Star 4800

Western Star 4800

The short-hood workhorse built for the dirtiest jobs in the yard.

With the shortest 109-inch BBC in the legacy lineup, the 4800 was the heavier-engined vocational sibling of the 4700 and 4900 — offered as a bare cab-and-chassis in set-forward or set-back axle layouts so a mixer, dump or crane body could be built to suit. Day-cab and short-sleeper (including a 34-inch Stratosphere) configurations were both available.
