Ram 4500 Chassis Cab

Heavy-hauling work-truck muscle.

The 4500 is the mid-tier Class 4 model of Ram's chassis-cab range, rated up to a 16,500-lb GVWR and sold as a bare cab-and-frame for commercial upfits. It arrived alongside the 5500 under the Dodge brand for 2008 (revealed at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show) as the brand charged into the Class 4-5 chassis-cab segment, then powered by a 6.7L Cummins High Output turbo diesel making 305 hp and 610 lb-ft. Today's version pairs the 6.7L Cummins I-6 (360 hp / 800 lb-ft) with a TorqueFlite HD 8-speed automatic.
