Hino XL Series (XL7 / XL8)

Hino reaches up into Class 8 vocational.

Introduced in 2019, the XL Series marked Hino's first-ever entry into the Class 8 market in North America, with the Class 7 XL7 (rigid tri-axle) and Class 8 XL8 straight-truck and tractor, and made Hino the first new entrant into the North American Class 8 segment in decades. It debuted Hino's new 8.9-liter A09C inline-six, rated at 300 hp in the XL7 and 360 hp with up to 1,150 lb-ft of torque in the XL8, backed by Allison automatic or Eaton manual transmissions and Dana axles, and was assembled at Hino's new West Virginia plant.
