Hino 195 / 268 / 338 (legacy)

The cabover-and-conventional medium-duty range.

These were Hino's pre-2021 medium-duty mainstays before the L Series rebrand: the 268 (Class 6) and 338 (Class 7) were 600-series conventionals built from the mid-2000s to 2021 on Hino's own J08E diesel, with the 268 earning a reputation for the lowest cost of ownership in its class. The standout of the group was the 195h cabover, the first diesel-electric hybrid in the U.S. Class 5 segment, which won the American Truck Dealers' 2013 Medium-Duty Commercial Truck of the Year award.
