Sterling Acterra

The medium-duty Sterling workhorse.

Unveiled in 1999 with production beginning in 2000, the Acterra was Sterling's first true medium-duty line, finally giving a brand that had survived on rebadged Class 8 conventionals a real Class 5 through 8 range. It married a 106-inch-BBC cab derived from the heavy-duty L-Line to a Freightliner Business Class chassis and a standard Mercedes-Benz MBE900 diesel, and stayed in production until Sterling was wound down in 2009.
