Chevrolet Silverado 4500 HD

Work-truck capability, pickup familiarity.

The Class 4 entry point of the Silverado chassis-cab line, the 4500 HD is the lightest of the trio at a maximum GVWR around 16,000 lb. Introduced for 2019 and built by Navistar in Springfield, Ohio, it marked GM's return to the conventional medium-duty segment it had abandoned in 2009, running the same diesel-only 6.6L Duramax L5D and Allison transmission as its bigger 5500 HD and 6500 HD brothers.
